The answer is $2.90.
this is because you can multiply $1.16 by two to get the cost for 4 bananas, then divide 1.16 by 2 to get the cost of one pound (58 cents).
You then add 0.58 to the cost of 4 bananas (2.32) to get the cost of 5.
