Hello!

8y - 1 = x
3x = 2y

Put what x equals in the first equation in place of x in the second equatoin

3(8y - 1) = 2y

Distribute the 3

24y - 3 = 2y

Subtract 24y from both sides

-3 = -22y

Divide both sides by -22

y = 3/22

Now we put y into the first equation

8(3/22) - 1 = x

Multiply

12/11 - 1 = x

Subtract

1/11 = x

The answer is (1/11, 3/22)

Hope this helps!
