You would need the distance formula
[tex] \sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2}+(y_{2}-y_{1})^{2}[/tex]
Insert the numbers
[tex] \sqrt{(-1+1)^{2}+(2-6)^{2}[/tex]
Solve inside
[tex] \sqrt{(0)^{2}+(-4)^{2}[/tex]
Square and add
[tex] \sqrt{16}[/tex]

Whenever you want to find the distance between two points, you can use the distance formula.
d=√(x₂-x₁)²+(y₂-y₁)
d=√(6-(-1)²+(2-(-1)²
d=√(7)²+(3)²
d=√49+9
d=√58
