The first polynomial is [tex] 5a^2b+2a^2b^2 [/tex]

The other polynomial is [tex] -ab^2+a^2b^2 [/tex]

Now to add polynomials we must add or subtract like terms

Adding them we have

[tex] (5a^2b+2a^2b^2)+(-ab^2+a^2b^2) [/tex]

[tex] 5a^2b+2a^2b^2-ab^2+a^2b^2 [/tex]

Here [tex] 2a^2b^2 $ and $ a^2b^2 $ are like terms $  [/tex]

So we add then

We get

[tex] 5a^2b+3a^2b^2-ab^2 [/tex]

The addition of the polynomial is [tex] 5a^2b+3a^2b^2-ab^2 [/tex]
