When using the wet method, holding the spray nozzle too close to the brake surface may cause asbestos fibers to be airborne, thus, it is dangerous to one's health.  Any particles from the asbestos that get into one's lung can cause irritation and illness.   Brake dust can be very harmful and should be handled with caution! One common ingredient in brake pads is asbestos, which is very harmful if inhaled.
