why does California have so much crime and what are the effects of it

My say on the matter is because it's such an important state due to it holding a high number of rich and famous people, it attracts others who want to claim those riches for themselves. The effects of having such a high crime rate is that it really takes away the beauty of California and it makes it a scary place to live.
