3/4+z=5/6

Find the common denominator which is 12 for 3/4 and 5/6.

Multiply by 3 for 3/4.

Multiply by 2 for 5/6.

3(3)/4(3)=9/12

5(2)/6(2)=10/12

9/12+z=10/12

Move 9/12 to the other side. Sign changes from 9/12 to -9/12.

9/12-9/12+z=10/12-9/12

z=1/12

Answer: z= 1/12
