The great plains were the region of Texas and Canada, where cattlemen decide to settle down and start a new life in the 1800s. The gold for the cattlemen is the land in the Great Plains, with fertile soils to cultivate corn and wheat. Along grassland that provided a natural area for cattle to graze.
