Hernán Cortés was a Spanish conqueror. He was the one to conquer the Aztec empire.

He first spent 7 years at the island La Española (part of the Dominican Republic and Haiti). Later on, he participated in the mission to conquer Cuba (next to Diego Velázquez).

His big adventure began at Yucatán (Cozumel island). The next stop was Tabasco. Cortés continued to Tlaxcala and there he met the Aztecs. His greatest expedition was Tenochtitlan (the famous story about the emperor Moctezuma).
