A codon can be described as  sequences of three nucleotides which make up the genetic code. By decoding this information, specific proteins are made. For each genetic code on the mRNA, there are anticodons carried by tRNA. The nucleotides of the anti-codons are specific for the nucleotides present in the specific genetic code.

If UAU tRna is expressed five time more than the UAC tRna, then UAU-containing mRNAs will be translated at a faster rate than the UAC-containing mRNAs.
