unions?

Labor unions fight for the rights of workers such as advocating minimum wage or reasonable working hours or time off. I may be wrong in those examples but that is the general idea. For employers to implement these requirements they would have to sacrifice their profits or foot out extra costs such as to hire more manpower to account for the time off taken by their current employees.
