Answer:

96-8k = 3k+63

96 - 11k = 63      

(you get -11 by bringing the +3k to the other side which changes the sign to -3k ;   -8k-3k = 11k)

-11k = 63 - 96

-11k = -33

k = -33/-11

k= 3
