Many philosophers challenged the traditional way of thinking in every aspect. Philosophers challenged government, economics, religion. Scientist challenged traditional thoughts on the world and why things are what they are or do what they do. Voltaire, John Locke, and Montesque were some of the most recognized enlightenment thinkers. John Locke is especially recognized for his proposition of natural (inalienable) rights, so rights that wee are born with and that can not be taken away.
