I'm honestly not sure if you can. It probably would not be sanitary enough to use. Plus, I don't know of any materials that would be safe enough to use that wouldn't cause infection or have a chance of getting stuck.
Store-bought tampons would be the safest bet simply because they are the most sanitary and safe. But always make sure to change out your tampon regularly.
