1.) distribute/multiply the 2 into (x+7) and you get 2x+14

2.) then do the same with the 3 into (x+1) and you get 3x+3

3.) finally, just combine the like terms which are 3x and 2x (just add them), and 14 and 3 (again add them) and your final answer should be 5x+17
