There are many factors. One can be the amount of predators that it has in the biome. Another can be human influence through things such as hunting or pollution or anything similar that might cause it to go extinct. One can be a change in climate or a decrease in food. Things that might decrease it are laws that prohibit or protect them. Conservation centers where they are bred can also help and decrease the probability.
