The main processes of the Carbon cycle are photosynthesis, which involves fixation of atmospheric carbon dioxide, and respiration, which involves the production of carbon dioxide from the breakdown of glucose using oxygen.
Water is necessary in the production of glucose from carbon dioxide during photosynthesis, so it is a reactant here. Meanwhile, water is released as a product when glucose is broken down to produce energy.
