The relationship between mitosis and cytokinesis is that they work together in the cell cycle during the mitotic (M) phase. This is where a nuclear diffusion (mitosis) and cell division (cytokinesis) occurs. The mother cell divides into two daughter cells that are genetically identical to each other and the parent cell as well.
