The rate of change of a graph, is the slope of the graph.

The rate of change of the graph is 4.5

The points on the graph are:

[tex]\mathbf{(x,y) = (2,9) (4,18)}[/tex]

So, the slope (m) is calculated as:

[tex]\mathbf{m = \frac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}}[/tex]

This gives

[tex]\mathbf{m = \frac{18 - 9}{4-2}}[/tex]

[tex]\mathbf{m = \frac{9}{2}}[/tex]

[tex]\mathbf{m = 4.5}[/tex]

Hence, the rate of change of the graph is 4.5
