Ahmad and Noor, Laila's two older brothers, leave to fight for the Mujahideen in the jihad. They are fighting fotr the Mujahideen. After they are killed, Laila's mother Fariba is never the same. As conflict turns to war in Kabul, living conditions become difficult for everyone.
