Thomas Paine's pamphlet, "Common Sense", helped to influence American Colonial thinking about British rule because it helped to increase public support for the revolution and the break from the British Government. Paine used common language and religiously based arguments to assert why it was necessary for the colonies to seek independence thus greatly impacting the thinking of the colonists at the time.
