The solar wind is a stream of charged particles made mostly of electrons and protons that flows outward from the Sun. It is caused by the hot solar corona expanding into the space. Corona is denser than the solar wind due to its ionized charged particles. Because solar winds are less dense than corona, they can travel 900km/s sometimes reaching the ionosphere of the earth.

Hope this helps xox :)
