Hello: 
 an equation   for the line is : y =mx +b    (m: is a slope )

parallel to the line   or the form y = 3x- 4       ( same slope    m  = 3)
the equation is : y = 3x+b

through the point (2,1) : 1 =3(2)+b....... b=-5
the equation is : y = 3x -5
