x/3 + 6 + 5x/6 = 27

Add x/3 with 5x/6.

x/3 + 5x/6 = ?

x/3 × 2/2 = 2x / 6

So, 2x/6 + 5x/6 = 7x/6

So, we now have :

7x/6 + 6 = 27

Subtract 6 from both sides.

7x/6 = 27 - 6

Simplify.

7x/6 = 21

Multiply 6 to both sides.

7x = 21 × 6

Simplify.

7x = 126

Divide both sides by 7.

x = 18
