5a^2+2a+4(a−3)Distribute:  =5a^2+2a+(4)(a)+(4)(−3)  =5a^2+2a+4a+−12Combine Like Terms:  =5a^2+2a+4a+−12  =(5a^2)+(2a+4a)+(−12)  =5a^2+6a+−12   Answer  =5a^2+6a−12
