-20/48 x 6 =   [tex] \frac{-20}{48} [/tex]    x  [tex] \frac{6}{1} [/tex]

I would cancel out the 6 in the numerator and the 48 in the denominator
Now I have [tex] \frac{-20}{8} [/tex]  or [tex] \frac{-5}{2} [/tex] reduced.

-5 ÷ 2  = -2 1/2 and that is the answer in simplest form
