Adenosine Triphosphate, or ATP are stored in Phosphate bonds. The process that is used to break down glucose into ATP that is usable by the cell is when phosphate is added to ADP by dehydration synthesis to become ATP. Energy is stored in the phosphate bonds. The purpose of having ATP in the cell is to provide a usable form of energy. Hope this helps to understand this a little better!
