(2^2)^3 = (2*2)^3 = 4^3 = 4*4*4 = 64
(2^3)^2 = (2*2*2)^2 = 8^2 = 8*8 = 64
they are the same, because the total of the exponents multiplied by each other are identical ( 3*2=6) so in both equations you are multiplying 2 by itself 6 times
