Solve the given equation for y to obtain the slope and y-intercept of this equation:

-3x + 9y = 18

Add 3x to both sides:  3x - 3x + 9y = 18 + 3x

Simplifying, 9y =  3x + 18

 Dividing both sides by 9 to solve for y:

y = (3/9)x + 2            or (after reduction)         y = (1/3)x + 2

The slope is 1/3 and the y-int. is (0,2).

Answer:

1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

-3x+9y=18

or,

3x-9y+18=0

comparing the equation with ax+by+c=0,

we get,

a=3

b=-9

c=18

we know,

slope of the equation= -a/b

=-3/-9

=1/3
