The appropriate frequency for a cardiorespiratory endurance program is 3-5 times per week. The current recommendations for achieving cardiovascular fitness is moderate exercise around 3-5 times per week as this can achieve the highest level of sympathetic activity that can increase cardiovascular fitness without the consequential overfatigue that can result from exercise related injuries.
