This was caused primarily by the famous Baby Boom that happened after World War II. It was a demographic phenomenon characterized by a notorious increase in natality when soldiers returned to their homes. The Baby Boomers also gave birth to children, called Echo Boomers, reaching a total of at least 10 billion children born between the years 1950 and 2015.
