We have [tex]9ax+9b-6=21[/tex].

We add 6 to both sides. [tex]9ax+9b=27[/tex].

Now, to solve for [tex]ax+b[/tex], we factor out and divide by a 9 to get

[tex]9(ax+b)=27 \\ ax+b=3[/tex].
