$150*.06=$9

To start you need to multiply the amount by the percent. In this case $×%=x 
When x=your answer. (In dollars) 

Now you convert 6% to a decimal:
6%=0.6

So if we take
$150 and multiply it by 6% we get:

150×.06=9

And so she saved $9
