If the radius of a cylinder is doubled and the height is tripled, what happens to the volume?

Here is an explanation: due to the doubling of the radius, this increases the volume by a factor of four. Also, tripling the height has increased the volume by a factor of three. Therefore, the the new cylinder will have 12 times the volume of the original.
