The weight of an ice sheet imposed on lithosphere in the continental block will cause the continent to sink in the asthenosphere due to isostatic rebound. The thickness of the ice sheet change with time as the sea level rise and the sinking of the lithosphere will continue until isostatic equilibrium is reached.
